Job summary

Healthcare Realty Trust Inc. in Dallas seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer for medical office buildings. This full-time, on-site role requires five or more years in facilities maintenance and a thorough understanding of building automation, electrical systems, and HVAC.

Licensure or trade certification is a plus. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and record-keeping; on-call duties occur about every five weeks with travel within the Dallas area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in facilities maintenance with knowledge of BAS, electrical, HVAC and life-safety systems.
• Experience reading blueprints and performing preventive maintenance.
• Self-sufficient team player with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and building upkeep as needed.
• Carry out emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Complete assigned work orders promptly.
• Demonstrate strong organization, verbal and written communication.
• Read blueprints and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders; on-call about every five weeks.
• Travel to buildings within the Dallas metropolitan area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance with thorough understanding of Building Automation Systems, electrical systems, controls, condensing boilers, package rooftop HVAC, variable air volume systems, chemical treatment, emergency generation equipment, plumbing, transfer switches and life safety systems. Performs assigned repairs; building upkeep duties as needed (periodic pressure washing and leaf blowing as needed); emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner. Completes maintenance and repair records as required. Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner. Basic skills with Microsoft Office. Uses personal computer and smart phone for work order system and email. Position requires excellent organization, verbal, written and multi-tasking skills. Must be able to read blueprints. Takes ownership of work, is flexible, and focuses on creating a positive and welcoming impression. Must be self-sufficient, team player. Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders.
