Job summary

SCM Real Estate Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to enhance our mission of making places better in Texas. The role involves responding to tenant requests, performing preventive maintenance, and overseeing repairs across the building systems like HVAC and plumbing.

Qualifications

Job description

SCM Real Estate Services is on a mission – and it is to “Make Places Better.” We need an experienced Maintenance Engineer who can help make our places better in the areas of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, preventive maintenance, and make ready.

Responsibilities

• Respond to tenant service requests
• Perform preventive maintenance, corrective and emergency repairs of buildings, systems, equipment and grounds
• Daily monitoring of building system operations and performance including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation of equipment
• Review assigned work orders
• Utilize several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling
• Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements
• Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors
• Complete maintenance and repair records as required
• Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks
• Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed
• Perform other duties as assignedComputer and mobile app efficiency
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in a timely and routine manner
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• May coordinate work and assign tasks
• No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience performing commercial maintenance on office and retail buildings (no multi-family/apartment complexes, please)
• Knowledge of, and experience with electrical, HVAC, roofing, fire alarms, plumbing, lighting, preventive maintenance, and outside contractors
• A problem solver; you take initiative to make decisions that are in the best interest of the company, our tenants, and the landlord
• Personal vehicle
