Job description

Position Overview

Maintenance Mechanic at Ocean Spray’s Markham Processing Plant (17 acres, 200,000 square feet). Produces Sweetened Dried Cranberries (Craisins). Schedule: 12‑hour shifts, 4pm‑4am or 4am‑4pm, rotating weekends off (36/48‑hr schedule). Starting pay: $35.05 per hour. Must work indoors with five 20‑minute paid breaks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install, rebuild, and repair all plant equipment.
• Perform general building and support system repairs.
• Use hand tools and power tools to repair or replace faulty equipment.
• Diagnose electrical issues with a multimeter and other tools, referencing manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Enter information and input data into the CMMS system accurately.
• Perform basic boiler and ammonia system maintenance.
• Fabricate parts using proper machining equipment.
• Weld broken equipment and tools.
• Practice 5S and good housekeeping.
• Assist other maintenance personnel as needed and perform duties assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting and electrical component replacement skills.
• Experience with electrical control systems and automation.
• Knowledge of plant equipment maintenance and operations.
• Ready to pursue progression to Electro‑Mechanic or Master Mechanic within two years.
