Job summary

Nestlé Purina North America’s Crete, Nebraska plant is seeking an Electrician to maintain all plant systems, focusing on safety, reliability and continuous improvements. The role covers mechanical and electrical equipment, with preventive and predictive maintenance across production lines.

The position offers hourly pay starting at $30.46 per hour, with potential increases to $38.02 per hour through training, plus overtime, shift differential and up to a 7.5% quarterly bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year electrician experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• 2-year technical degree or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with electrical safety practices and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including motors and PLCs.
• Use diagnostic equipment such as volt/ohm meters and megger.
• Operate safely in MCC rooms with proper PPE.
• Install and maintain sensors, switchgear, and control wiring for plant motors.
• Support reliability and process improvements through maintenance activities.

Our factory in Crete, Nebraska is one of the largest wet pet food manufacturing facilities in the U.S., producing over one thousand tons of pet food per day for brands such as Alpo®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Pro Plan®, Friskies®, and Nestlé Purina Veterinary Diets®.

Compensation

Hourly pay starting at $30.46 per hour with opportunities to increase up to $38.02 per hour through additional training and certifications. Overtime pay, shift differential, and up to 7.5% quarterly bonus are also available.

Position Summary

As an Electrician, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance of all plant systems, including facilities, unloading, processing, packing, and warehouse operations. You will focus on safety and play a major role in machine reliability and process improvements across the plant by troubleshooting and repairing both mechanical and electrical equipment. Your work will include predictive and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including motors and PLCs.
• Use diagnostic equipment such as volt/ohm meters, wiggies, ammeters, and meggers.
• Operate safely in the MCC rooms using proper PPE.
• Install and maintain sensors, switchgear, control wiring, and protective devices for plant motors, including three‑phase systems.
• Service and maintain plant electrical and electronic equipment, including operator interfaces, process controllers, and power supplies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of electrician experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military, or related environment, or a 2‑year technical degree.

Other Requirements

• Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
