Job description

We are a state‑of‑the‑art factory located 30 miles east of Cincinnati in Batavia, producing a diverse range of pet care brands. Our team prioritizes safety, environmental stewardship, advanced manufacturing technology, and continuous learning.

As an Electromechanical Technician (Industrial Electrician), you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize production equipment with a focus on electrical and automation systems. You will collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance personnel to solve problems and implement solutions quickly and safely, ensuring efficient operation of factory assets.

During training and orientation the role will operate Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. After completion, the shift will transition to nights 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on a 2‑2‑3 schedule (week one: two days on, two days off, three days on; week two: two days off, two days on, three days off).

The starting hourly pay is $38.56, with a maintenance progression plan providing increases up to $44.99 based on knowledge, skills, and performance. The role includes a $7,500 retention bonus, overtime pay, quarterly bonus, $500 lifestyle spending account annually, full health benefits, 401k match, generous PTO, parental leave, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Repair, replace, and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, wiring, belts, and valves.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical equipment and automation system hardware such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI).
  • Read ladder logic and make basic adjustments to PLC and HMI programming related to inputs, outputs, tags, sensors, and button controls.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot material handling systems such as the automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) in the warehouse.
  • Utilize mechanical and electrical tools, diagnostic instruments (meters), electrical diagrams and schematics, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to work safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment and solve technical problems.
  • Perform basic rigging, mechanical practices, and welding skills in an industrial environment.
  • Model electrical safety and share electrical and mechanical expertise to train other team members.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least 3 years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of complex mechanical, electrical, and automation systems in a manufacturing or related environment.
  • OR a technical degree or certification with at least 1 year of relevant industrial electrical and mechanical experience.
  • After training and orientation, must be willing to work 6 p.m.–6 a.m. on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.

Approximate starting hourly pay for the Electromechanical Technician C is $38.56. Pay progression: Technician B $41.78, Technician A $44.99. Final compensation may vary based on factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
