Job summary

Flex-N-Gate is seeking a Maintenance Controls/Electrician in Detroit to repair and troubleshoot controls, lasers, servos, sensors and related press-side equipment. The role offers $35.50/hour plus shift premium and overtime opportunities.

The position requires hands-on experience with Siemens controls, PLCs, proximity switches, and automated equipment on injection molding and stamping machinery, with familiarity of Engel and Schuler presses and drawing interpretation.

Qualifications

Siemens controls experience required or asset.
Electrical experience preferred.
3-5 years’ experience with controls-based equipment.
Good working knowledge of PLC controls.
Experience with proximity switches, photo eyes, sensors, lasers and servos.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting injection molding machines, stamping and assembly presses.
Fixing issues with proximity switches, photo eyes, sensors, lasers, servos on press-side equipment.
Working on Engel and Schuler presses.
Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; create sketches if none available.
Test equipment after adjustments or repairs.
Set up and use machine tools to produce/modify components.
Perform preventative maintenance on utilities, services, buildings and machinery.
Repair/modifications to buildings and structures as required.
