Job summary

ABB Installation Products Division is seeking an electrical technician in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The role is onsite with 10-hour shifts Mon-Thu and occasional OT to meet demand, and is safety sensitive under state regulations.

You will install wiring for machines, diagnose faults in transformers, motors, PCBs, and mechanical systems, and support fabrication and boiler/chiller knowledge. Requires a high school diploma or GED with 4 years mechanical experience or a state license; or a certificate

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years mechanical experience or state license.
  • 1 year certificate from college/tech school or state license.
  • Safety conscious, 5S driven; meets production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical wiring and conduit for machines and equipment such as robots and conveyors.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures.
  • Diagnose and repair PCB and mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic components.
  • Plan wiring layout and install wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus.
  • Weld and fabricate as required.
  • Know boilers and chillers; perform other duties as assigned.

This position reports to: Production Supervisor __ The work model for the role is: Onsite, Jonesboro, Arkansas This position works 10 hour shifts Monday - Thursday, with OT as needed to meet customer demand.

***This is a Safety Sensitive position under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment of 2016.

Your role and responsibilities:
  • Ability to install electrical wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors and programmable controllers.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, etc.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Ability to plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus in the building.
  • Ability to weld and fabricate.
  • Knowledge of boilers and chillers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the role:
  • High school diploma or GED Minimum of 4 years of mechanical experience or and/or a state license, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school and/or a state license.
  • Safety conscious, 5S driven, and recommends safety corrections immediately.
  • Produces excellent quality work.
  • Engaged to meet production goals regularly.
  • Participates in team initiatives yet self-motivated.
