Job summary

National Beef Leathers of St. Joseph, Missouri, is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for a full-time on-site role with a unique 3-day work week rotation.

The position offers competitive wages, attendance bonuses, night shift differentials, and multiple bonus programs. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical systems across low to high voltage, collaborating with maintenance and production teams, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Able to read electrical schematics.
• Understand and demonstrate relay logic.
• Previous electrical experience – industrial setting preferred.
• Able to drive a forklift or willing to undertake forklift training.
• Able to work outside in all weather.
• Able to lift up to 75-100 pounds.
• Able to read and write.
• Able to use basic mathematics.
• Able to stand/walk on concrete/stairs for duration of shift.
• Able to pass mechanical aptitude test.
• Able to use ladders.
• Able to use lift trucks (snorkel/bucket lift).
• Able to use various hand tools and power tools.
• Able to work with a group or unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and diagnose electrical systems ranging from millivolts to 480V power systems.
• Collaborate with Maintenance & Production teams to identify failure points and perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical code.
• Use 2-way radios.
• Wear task-specific PPE.
• Comply with safe work practices and procedures.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Electrician responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Troubleshooting & diagnose electrical systems ranging from millivolts (mV) control circuits to 480V power systems, including both main power and control power
• Collaborate with Maintenance & Production teams to identify failure points & to perform root cause analysis.
• Always ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards & electrical code.
• Use 2-way radios
• Wear task-specific PPE (personal protective equipment)
• Comply with all safe work practices and procedures
• Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times
• Other duties as assigned

This is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Maintenance Electrician position should possess the following:

• Able to read electrical schematics
• Understand and demonstrate relay logic
• Previous electrical experience - preferably in an industrial setting
• Able to drive a forklift or willing to undertake forklift training
