About the Company

Graham Packaging Company is seeking a Maintenance Electrician based in Evansville, Indiana. This position is for the Night shift, operating from 11pm to 7am, Sunday through Thursday.

About the Role

The Maintenance Electrician will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair systems using electrical, mechanical, and processing skills. Responsibilities include performing preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment and building systems.

Responsibilities

  1. Follow and enforce all safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies and procedures.
  2. Ensure product quality by monitoring and adjusting manufacturing processes.
  3. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes for equipment installation and maintenance.
  4. Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cables, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  5. Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  6. Maintain and repair switchgear, transformers, meters, regulators, reactors, motors, generators, and control systems.
  7. Conduct preventive maintenance and keep accurate records.
  8. Assist and train production staff on machinery operation and maintenance.
  9. Limited travel may be required.

Qualifications

  1. Two-year associate degree in an electrical-related field is a plus.
  2. Minimum of five years of industrial maintenance electrician experience preferred.

Required Skills

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Proficiency in computer use and typing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Competence in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff).
  • Extensive training and understanding of PLC wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and work from diagrams.
  • Experience in assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment from electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of electrical components: power circuits, switch gears, motors, drives, relays, timers, starters, and data memory.
  • Understanding of basic electrical theories such as circuitry, Ohm’s Law, and wiring principles.
