Aerotek seeks a Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, and modify electrical systems for terminal operations. You will diagnose and repair electrical equipment, test systems with meters, and ensure safety practices.
This contract-to-hire role is based in Chesapeake, VA and involves training, safety, and collaboration with third-party contractors. Required are strong electrical skills, PLC exposure, and experience with high-voltage systems.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and modification of electrical systems related to terminal operations. This role ensures compliance with company procedures and safety practices.
Maintain and service electrical equipment and systems, diagnosing and repairing failures on cranes, mobile equipment, conveyor systems, generators, lighting, and associated equipment.
Test electrical systems using devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to verify continuity, voltages, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) when needed.
Perform routine maintenance and testing to verify the condition of components like electrical motors and generators, both AC and DC.
Train and develop safety standard procedures (SSP) on the safe operation of electrical equipment.
Implement improvements and modifications as required and approved.
Develop and order material lists for projects as approved, and maintain records.
Maintain a safe and efficient workplace, completing appropriate documentation of maintenance and repairs and entering it into the database as required.
Assist the maintenance team with repairs as needed.
Attend all required safety meetings and training.
Oversee third-party contractors to ensure quality and compliance.

The work environment is terminal/warehouse/industrial, requiring willingness to work in all weather conditions, indoors and outdoors throughout the year. Must be available for overtime as required, including nights and weekends, and be on call 24/7 as needed.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CHESAPEAKE, VA.
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
