Job Location: GAM Boyertown Site - Boyertown, PA 19512

Salary Range: $27.58 - $37.90 per hour. On‑the‑job training is provided. The State‑Approved Apprenticeship Program pays for all tuition and books to obtain Journeyworker Certification.

Position Summary

This position provides electrical and instrumentation maintenance support for the site. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and calibrating electrical manufacturing equipment and other systems throughout the plant, and may require installation or upgrade of new or existing equipment. All work must comply with the appropriate electrical regulatory codes. The position is responsible for the safety of the individual and others working in the area.

Essential Functions

• Adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the completion of Hot Work, Line Break, Lock, Tag & Try, contractor work permits and other SHE permits.
• Maintain a questioning attitude to ensure a safe work environment.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
• Complete necessary forms, charts, etc. to document the process.
• Respond appropriately to process variations.
• Work safely with hazardous materials.
• Daily inspection of equipment, troubleshoot equipment as needed, and perform preventive maintenance.
• Work in a team environment and move to where the work is required.
• Train co‑workers on job tasks as required.
• Perform housekeeping and 5S.
• Operate forklift and other motorized transportation equipment as necessary.
• Communicate the status of the operation to the following shift.
• Report to workstation on time to receive operation status from the previous shift.
• Participate in safety efforts (VPP, JHAs, etc.) and CIP teams.
• Perform electrical and instrumentation maintenance, repair and calibration.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow SOPs and work instructions and work safely.

• Strong experience with electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience up to 2400 V, 3‑phase, motor control circuitry, minor rigging and mechanical, control voltages, and instrumentation calibration.
• Ability to work safely with hazardous materials and hazardous waste in accordance with applicable federal (RCRA) and state (PA DEP) regulations.
• Previous manufacturing experience in a chemical plant (preferred).
• Electrician Journeyworker certification (required).
• Proficiency in basic PC navigation and PLC operations (required).
• 2–4 years of manufacturing electrical experience (preferred).

Training and Apprenticeship

On‑the‑job training is provided. The State‑Approved Apprenticeship Program pays for all tuition and books to obtain Journeyworker Certification. The candidate must successfully complete the PLC for Industry Certificate Program at Penn State Berks campus, obtaining a minimum grade of C in each of the five courses. The one‑year certificate program must be completed after completing the Electrical Journeyworker program.

The company will consider candidates without Journeyworker credentials if they agree to attend classes and achieve their Journeyworker status within four years of being hired. The candidate must agree to remain an employee for a minimum of two years after completion of training; if they resign within two years, they will reimburse the company for all tuition fees.

A test will be taken to demonstrate current electrician proficiency.

Shift Schedule

• Training: 7:00am–3:00pm; Paid lunch break.
• After training, assignment to one of the following shifts: 1st Shift: 7am–3pm; 2nd Shift: 3pm–11pm; Overnight Shift: 11pm–7am.

Compensation

Entry‑Level Wage: $27.58 per hour. Journeyworker Wage: $34.70 per hour. Electrical Technician Wage: $37.90 per hour.
