Job summary

Bellwood Developmental Center is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to lead the maintenance and housekeeping departments. The role requires planning, organizing, and directing operations to comply with Federal, state, and local standards, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents.

You will supervise staff, coordinate with other departments, and manage preventive maintenance programs, safety compliance, and vendor relations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in maintenance/plant roles.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Must be licensed per current standards and laws.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct maintenance/housekeeping.
• Direct the department and coordinate with related departments.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for administration.
• Establish preventive maintenance programs.
• Supervise safety, equipment use, and PPE procedures.
• Manage equipment, supplies, budgets, and MSDS compliance.
• Attend meetings and contribute to training programs.
