Job summary

Oakhurst Health & Rehabilitation in Fork Union, VA seeks a Maintenance Director to lead all facility systems, oversee preventive maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role requires 3–5+ years of maintenance leadership in healthcare, strong OSHA/Life Safety knowledge, and budget management skills. CHFM credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in healthcare or LTC setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and Life Safety Code requirements.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot building systems and manage budgets.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• CHFM or equivalent credential is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all building systems, maintenance operations, and repairs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure regulatory compliance (state, federal, CMS, Life Safety Code).
• Supervise and develop the maintenance team, fostering accountability and pride.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs, inspections, and capital projects.
• Lead emergency preparedness and safety initiatives.
• Support a clean, safe, home-like environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
