Job summary

CountryHouse Granite Bay, part of Agemark Senior Living, seeks a hands-on Maintenance Director to keep our community safe, functional, and welcoming for residents and staff. You will lead the Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry teams, oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and preventive maintenance, and manage safety compliance and move-ins.

Strong leadership, technical knowledge, budgeting, and vendor management are essential, along with flexibility to respond to emergencies and changing needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities, or property management.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Understanding of safety inspections and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry teams for daily operations.
• Maintain buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems; perform preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate inspections, safety drills, and emergency preparedness.
• Prepare apartments for move-ins and welcome new residents.
• Manage vendors, budgets, and maintenance projects.
• Address repairs promptly and support transportation and operations.

What You'll Do

• Lead the Team: Oversee Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry team members, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Maintain the Community: Keep buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems—including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and vehicles—in excellent working condition.
• Ensure Safety & Compliance: Coordinate inspections, fire drills, emergency preparedness, and compliance with applicable safety and building requirements.
• Prepare for Move-Ins: Ensure apartments are clean, safe, well‑maintained, and ready to welcome new residents.
• Manage Vendors & Budgets: Coordinate contractors, oversee maintenance expenses, and manage preventative maintenance projects.
• Respond to Maintenance Needs: Address repairs promptly, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
• Support the Community: Assist with transportation and other operational needs as needed.

What You’ll Bring

• Maintenance Leadership Experience: Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, property management, hospitality, or a related field.
• Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, building maintenance, and general repairs.
• Safety & Compliance: Understanding of workplace safety, inspections, emergency preparedness, and applicable regulations.
• Organization & Time Management: Ability to prioritize projects, coordinate daily responsibilities, and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
• Problem‑Solving Skills: A hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues.
• Leadership & Communication: Ability to lead a team, communicate effectively, and build positive relationships with residents, families, and coworkers.
• Flexibility: Willingness to respond to emergencies and changing community needs as needed.
