Job summary

Rivers Edge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Prospect, KY, seeks a Maintenance Director to lead the Maintenance Department, ensuring safe, compliant and reliable facility operations for residents.

You will oversee planning, coordinating and executing preventive and unscheduled maintenance, manage equipment, and collaborate with housekeeping, nursing and dietary teams to maintain a comfortable living environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare maintenance experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of boilers, HVAC, generators, and basic building systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct, organize, and oversee the Maintenance Department ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Develop and implement maintenance programs, goals, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with related departments (Housekeeping, Nursing, Dietary, Activities).
• Prioritize and manage unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure resident comfort and facility functionality.
• Maintain equipment, grounds, and property through preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure safety regulations compliance and oversee fire protection programs.
• Coordinate external maintenance services to meet standards.
• Prepare and submit reports to the Administrator, including incident reports.
• Support facility surveys and audits with corrective actions for deficiencies.
• Manage inventory and supplies for efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Direct, organize, and oversee the overall operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
2. Develop and implement maintenance programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
3. Coordinate daily maintenance services with related departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Dietary, Nursing, Activities)
4. Prioritize and manage unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure resident comfort and facility functionality
5. Maintain the facility's equipment, grounds, and property through scheduled and preventive maintenance programs
6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, perform regular safety inspections, and oversee fire protection and prevention programs
7. Coordinate and monitor external maintenance services to ensure they meet required standards
8. Prepare and submit reports to the Administrator, including accident and incident reports
9. Participate in facility surveys and audits, ensuring corrective actions for any maintenance deficiencies
10. Manage the department's inventory, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient operations

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required
2. Experience in maintenance; healthcare setting experience is a plus
3. Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, heating, air conditioning, and the ability to perform minor carpentry and renovations
4. Strong ability to make independent decisions when required
5. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with all facility levels, residents, and external partners
6. Ability to work in various conditions, including cramped spaces and adverse weather conditions
7. Must be able to work on-call for emergencies and during weekends or holidays if needed
8. Experience working with elderly, disabled, or emotionally upset individuals is preferred
