Job summary

Westbury Center of McDonough for Nursing and Healing is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee daily and preventive maintenance, supervise staff, and ensure facilities remain safe and functional.

The role is hands-on and requires conducting inspections, managing budgets, and overseeing mechanical systems such as heating, cooling, and kitchen equipment. On-call rotation and flexible hours are expected. SNF experience is preferred, not required.

Qualifications

• Maintenance leadership and staff supervision experience preferred.
• Experience with facility inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Budget awareness and cost control in a facility setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff to ensure efficient, timely maintenance.
• Complete daily facility inspections.
• Recommend repair or replacement of interior and exterior components.
• Understand and adhere to maintenance budgets.
• Monitor mechanical systems (water heaters, HVAC, kitchen equipment).
• Perform or supervise installations, carpentry, repairs, and related tasks.
• Control maintenance storage and mechanical rooms.

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Director manages the Facility's Daily and Preventive Maintenance Program by working hands-on within the Facility, including overall inspection, repair, and general maintenance of interior/exterior areas. The Maintenance Director Supervises and supports the maintenance staff and ensures they provide efficient, timely, and competent maintenance service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Maintenance Director:

• Supervise and support the maintenance staff and ensure they provide efficient, timely, and competent maintenance service.
• Complete daily facility inspections.
• Recommend the repair or replacement of any interior and/or exterior
• Understand and adhere to Maintenance budgets.
• Monitor the maintenance and upkeep of all mechanical equipment in the facility, including but not limited to water heaters, HVAC units, kitchen equipment, etc.
• Perform and/or supervise various maintenance functions such as installations, carpentry, furnace and air conditioner repairs, filter changing, coil cleaning, plumbing and appliance repairs, drywall and painting repairs, vinyl installation and repairs, minor roof repairs, etc.
• Control Maintenance storage and mechanical rooms.

Requirements of the Maintenance Director:

• Must be able to work flexible hours and be on an on-call rotation
• Team Player
• 1-2 years of experience
• SNF experience is preferred, not required
