Job summary

The Wellington at Southport, a Sonida Senior Living community in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Maintenance Director to oversee upkeep of the campus, interior spaces, and equipment. You will manage move-ins, refurbishments, and safety compliance while leading a team to deliver a safe, well-maintained environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance required; familiarity with minor repair techniques for structural, electrical, plumbing, and systems maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety practices and hazard reduction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and exterior areas including building surroundings and waste removal.
• Maintain interior spaces, offices and common areas.
• Oversee repair of community equipment and ensure staff are trained in proper use.
• Prepare apartments for move-ins and refurbish units after move-outs.
• Maintain fire safety and required state inspections and records.

Maintenance Director Responsibilities Include

• Maintains grounds, including outside building repair, lawn maintenance and garbage removal.
• Maintains inside of building, offices, and common areas.
• Maintains and/or oversees repair of Community equipment; ensures that equipment is functioning properly, and staff are trained appropriately in its use.
• Prepares apartments for move-in and refurbishing of units after move-out.
• Maintains fire safety and emergency records, maintenance of systems and inspections required by state.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance preferred; familiarity with techniques of minor repair and maintenance for structural, electrical, plumbing, security and heating and cooling systems required.
• Experience in building safety and hazard reduction preferred.
