Job summary

Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Indiana is seeking aFull-time Maintenance Director to oversee preventive maintenance, safety, and repairs for our skilled nursing and assisted living environment.

You will lead maintenance staff, manage schedules, coordinate with contractors, and ensure equipment, furnishings, and property remain in safe, attractive condition for residents and staff. Previous leadership in facility maintenance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Survey the facility and identify equipment and systems in need of maintenance or repair.
• Follow established procedures and tasks.
• Maintain work order procedures to ensure timely repairs.
• Maintain all equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
• Maintain regular scheduled maintenance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and seasonal schedule.
• Update logs and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure safe operating procedures at all times, including safe storage of hazardous chemicals.
• Serve as liaison and supervisor with contractors and ensure work is completed as required.
• Ensure exterior maintenance and snow removal is completed to provide a clean, attractive, and safe property.
• Report unsafe conditions to the administrator and correct them.
• Coordinate with other departments' schedules to minimize interruptions of normal operations.
• Availability to respond to emergencies at the facility at all times.

• Report unsafe conditions, defective equipment, etc. to the administrator immediately, and correct unsafe conditions


• Coordinate with other departments' schedules to minimize interruptions of normal facility operations


• Availability to respond to emergencies at the facility at all times


• Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator

Skills

• Proven experience as maintenance technician


• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods


• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and regulations


• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices


• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills


• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime


• Thorough knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration systems, fire systems and equipment, and nurse call systems


• Driver's license in good standing


• Ability to manage budgets and complete maintenance records and reports


• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, perform difficult physical labor, and bend, twist, and stand for long period of time


• High school diploma or equivalent
