Maintenance Department Manager

Plans, directs, and monitors preventative and corrective maintenance and repair activities to ensure the company's buildings, facilities, machinery, and equipment operate reliably and efficiently.

Essential Functions
  • Oversees maintenance of injection molding, blow molding, and packaging equipment.
  • Oversees activities of maintenance department.
  • Collaborates with Production Manager to schedule preventative maintenance activities.
  • Builds and leads world-class mechanical and preventative maintenance teams to keep production equipment in excellent condition, maintain high efficiency, and proper stock of parts.
  • Oversees outside contractors performing installations and projects.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to meet customer deadlines.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, and reviews employee performance; works with HR on discipline, terminations, and recruitment.
  • Oversees safety team activities and enforces safety requirements.
  • Builds a positive work environment.
  • Develops and implements measures to improve production, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers, maintains records, and develops capital equipment justifications.
  • Ensures regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: 6 years of experience in manufacturing or related field, 6 years in similar role, 4 years managing people/projects.
  • Preferred: 10+ years in manufacturing, 10+ in similar role, 6 years managing people/projects.

Competencies

  • Works under supervision, handles basic issues, communicates effectively, demonstrates analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Office.

Education

  • Minimum: Bachelor's in Engineering or Business Administration or vocational studies.
