Vanguard Sentinel Career & Technology Centers is hiring a Maintenance/Custodial worker to support daily school operations. The role requires performing maintenance and custodial tasks across facilities and assisting with safety and sanitation.

Candidates must be at least 21, have a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid Ohio driver's license, and be able to lift over 60 pounds, work day or night shifts, and pass background checks. Training will follow district guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidate must be at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and have a valid Ohio Drivers license, with no restrictions for obtaining van and bus certification.
• Minimum of two years work experience in a maintenance/custodial or similar position is preferred.
• The successful candidate for this vacancy will be assigned to either day or night shift.
• The ability to work around high school students, problem solve, and multi-task is essential along with exceptional organizational and personal skills.
• Positive background checks (BCI/FBI) are mandatory.

General Description

• The ability to perform maintenance/custodial duties in a school setting possessing skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, operating indoor/outdoor equipment, operating hand tools, transporting students, frequently lift more than 60 pounds above waist, able to climb ladders and through roof hatch, follow specific sanitation guidelines, follow directions and possess exceptional personal skills.

WORK WEEK/YEAR: 260 days

SALARY: In accordance with the Board adopted hourly rate.
