Job summary

Vanguard Sentinel Career Center is seeking a Maintenance/Custodial professional to perform a variety of tasks in a school setting. The role requires physical endurance, the ability to operate basic tools, and adherence to sanitation standards.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 21, possess a valid Ohio driver's license, and be capable of lifting heavy loads and climbing ladders.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid Ohio driver's license and no restrictions for van/bus certification.
• Minimum of two years of maintenance/custodial or similar experience preferred.
• Able to work day or night shift.
• Must be able to lift >60 lbs, climb ladders, and follow sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance/custodial duties in a school setting with wiring/plumbing/mechanical tasks and operation of indoor/outdoor equipment.
• Operate hand tools and assist with transporting students as needed.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines and adhere to district policies.

LOCATION: District

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidate must be at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and have a valid Ohio Drivers license, with no restrictions for obtaining van and bus certification.
• Minimum of two years work experience in a maintenance/custodial or similar position is preferred.
• The successful candidate for this vacancy will be assigned to either day or night shift.
• The ability to work around high school students, problem solve, and multi-task is essential along with exceptional organizational and personal skills.
• Positive background checks (BCI/FBI) are mandatory.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

• The ability to perform maintenance/custodial duties in a school setting possessing skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, operating indoor/outdoor equipment, operating hand tools, transporting students, frequently lift more than 60 pounds above waist, able to climb ladders and through roof hatch, follow specific sanitation guidelines, follow directions and possess exceptional personal skills.

WORK WEEK/YEAR:

260 days

SALARY:

In accordance with the Board adopted hourly rate.
