Crestline Exempted Village SD Crestline, Ohio seeks a full-time Maintenance/Custodial staff member to perform general maintenance of school facilities, grounds, and systems, with emphasis on safety and preventive work.

Responsibilities include inspections, repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, snow removal, moving equipment, and keeping maintenance records, while upholding confidentiality and positive relations with staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Perform general maintenance of school facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all building systems and grounds.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Identify and report necessary repairs and recommend purchases for maintenance supplies.
• Service heating and cooling systems as needed.
• Maintain stadium facilities, including mowing and general upkeep.
• Perform snow removal and work flexible hours as necessary.
• Assist with moving furniture and setting up school events.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Stay informed on new maintenance techniques and safety regulations.
• Foster positive relationships with staff and the school community.

Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Performs maintenance duties to ensure the school buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds are in optimal working condition. Supports a safe and functional learning environment through preventive and corrective maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a role model for students and staff.
• Promote ethical principles and teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance, Facilities & Transportation, Principal, or Superintendent.

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Exposure to bodily fluids and hazardous materials.
• Operation of vehicles in inclement weather.
• Physical demands, including lifting, bending, and working in various conditions

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $20 to $28 Per Hour

Job Requirements

• QUALIFICATIONS:
  High school diploma required; college or technical training preferred.
  Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds keeping.
  Ability to read blueprints and schematics; capable of drawing sketches when necessary.
  Experience in construction, building maintenance, and custodial work.
  Physically capable of performing heavy labor, including lifting 50-75 pounds.
  Valid Ohio driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
  Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
