The City of Savannah is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee wastewater, water, or solid waste operations. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and relevant experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
This position participates in wastewater, water, or solid waste construction, maintenance, and repair activities, transportation, and disposal operations.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, with two years of experience in construction maintenance related to building, water/sewer, solid waste, streets, or grounds; supervisory experience preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Additional Requirements: Background check, drug screening, medical screening, and verification of education and licenses prior to employment.
Supervisory Controls: Work is assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor with detailed instructions; work is spot-checked for accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
Guidelines: Department rules, city code, and work standards provide clear and specific guidelines.
Work Complexity and Scope: Maintenance duties are directly related; weather conditions add complexity; the purpose is to support department operations through grounds and facilities maintenance.
Contacts and Purpose: Contacts include co-workers, city employees, customers, and the public, mainly to exchange information, provide services, and resolve problems.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work involves standing, walking, bending, lifting, and outdoor work in various weather conditions, often requiring protective gear.
