Job summary

Heather Gardens Association is seeking a Maintenance Crew Chief in Aurora, CO. This hands-on working lead will supervise maintenance services, perform a wide range of skilled trades, and help ensure quality workmanship and safety while guiding a team to complete work orders on time.

You will coordinate with residents, participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation, and promote teamwork, safety, and excellent resident service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school graduate or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of four (4) years of building maintenance experience.
• Training or experience in personnel supervision is preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and instructional skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and sketches.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural repairs, including carpentry and roof repairs.
• Perform plumbing repairs, including auguring lines, installing and repairing valves, and soldering domestic and hot-water heating lines.
• Perform complex maintenance and repairs on boilers, air handlers, swamp coolers, and HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 120/208/240-volt circuits and 3-phase wiring.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, HVAC systems, air handlers, swamp coolers, and locksets.
• Supervise and train assigned Maintenance employees.
• Evaluate daily work activities and inspect completed work for quality and safety.
• Complete work orders and related documentation accurately and timely.
• Respond to resident inquiries and maintenance concerns and recommend appropriate corrective action.
• Participate in the Maintenance Department's rotating 24-hour on-call schedule.
• Promote teamwork, continuous improvement, safety, and excellent resident service.

Heather Gardens Association is accepting internal applications for the position of Crew Chief within the Maintenance Department.

The Crew Chief is a hands-on working lead who assists in supervising maintenance services while performing a wide variety of skilled technical work related to building maintenance and repair. This position oversees assigned Maintenance employees, helps ensure quality workmanship and safe work practices, and supports the timely completion of work orders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful internal candidates should have:

• A valid Colorado driver's license, automobile insurance, and a good driving record.
• Reliable transportation and appropriate trade-related hand tools.
• The ability to recognize safety hazards and reinforce appropriate safety procedures.
• Near-journeyman level skill in at least one trade , such as plumbing, HVAC, or electrical.
• Working knowledge across multiple building trades, including carpentry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and boiler systems.
