Smurfit WestRock in Montgomery, AL seeks a Maintenance Coordinator to provide maintenance planning, clerical and administrative support to internal and external customers, focusing on maintenance personnel at the plant.

You will screen and prioritize work orders in CMMS, manage budgets, align schedules with production, coordinate parts procurement, backlog management, and collaborate with technicians, supervisors and operations managers to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's preferred.
• 5–10 years of maintenance/operations experience in manufacturing, corrugated container preferred.
• Knowledge of corrugators, Flexo folder gluers and printing press machinery.
• Analytical skills that drive decision-making.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to adapt and act in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Screen and approve work orders in the CMMS for asset areas to ensure priority and efficient resource use.
• Manage and track maintenance budget, identify variances, provide explanations for deviations.
• Monitor maintenance schedules to align with production schedules.
• Prioritize non-emergency and break-in work orders; review, approve, and schedule next-day/next-week work.
• Identify required parts and plan/budget for acquisitions.
• Maintain planned work order backlog and schedule daily/weekly lists.
• Screen and approve all work orders for the operating department for accuracy.
• Develop knowledge of production equipment, parts, functions, and processes.
• Serve as a core member of the Operating department team in all activities.
• Partner with Techs and Supervisors to review requests for feasibility and safety controls.
• Communicate with production and maintenance to resolve chronic failures and provide status updates.
• Participate in production meetings to review upcoming work, scheduling, and outages.
