Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast Greater Ridgecrest YMCA is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Coordinator to keep buildings, grounds, and equipment safe, clean, and operating at their best.

This full-time role offers pay between $16.00 and $16.70 per hour, with benefits and PTO. You will coordinate maintenance projects, supervise volunteers, and build strong relationships with staff and vendors to maintain a welcoming environment for members and guests.

Responsibilities

• Performing general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Completing minor plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and carpentry repairs.
• Painting, pressure washing, grounds maintenance, and facility upkeep.
• Inspecting facilities and equipment to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Monitoring and completing monthly safety inspections and checklists.
• Maintaining maintenance supplies, tools, and an organized workshop.
• Coordinating maintenance projects and communicating progress with branch leadership.
• Building positive working relationships with contractors, vendors, volunteers, and staff.
• Supervising maintenance volunteers as assigned.
• Helping create a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for YMCA members and guests.
• Reporting any safety concerns, suspicious activity, or situations that may impact member or child safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of maintenance, construction, facilities, or handyman experience
• Experience using common hand tools and power tools
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred (training provided if needed)
• Valid driver's license
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to successfully complete a Level II background screening and pre-employment drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
• Stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Safely operate maintenance equipment and tools
