POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for executing maintenance activities which support the entire Bridgeton operation. Lead the maintenance of the plant and equipment to maintain top efficiency and eliminate downtime. Particular emphasis is placed on process control systems, pneumatic instrumentation, and electronic instrumentation. Cooperation with the maintenance planner, lead, and operations personnel for execution of work to be performed is vital. Ensure the plant is maintained in a safe, efficient manner, in accordance with plant procedures and local, state, and federal regulations. Proactive identification of issues, notifying, and rectifying them with both the Maintenance and Operations team is required. Continuous development and formal training to increase skill level is essential. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, cooperative, reliable, patient, considerate, respectful, and passionate about the work that needs to be done. They must have a consistent work history and the ability to flex their schedule based on business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the maintenance or operations supervisor. Job duties may change as required by the needs of the company.
Monitoring and troubleshooting of control loops, instruments, and/or entire control systems.
Replace, repair, and/or recalibrate defective components and instruments, including associated tubing and wiring work.
Attends and participates in formal training programs at the discretion of the company.
Properly uses and cares for tools and test equipment.
Maintains daily maintenance and plant calibration logs.
Able to be contacted in case of, and responds to emergencies as needed.
Work a schedule which may include weekends, rotating shifts and/or overtime.
Prepare and analyze written or computer data.
Visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts.
Operation of motor vehicles or equipment.
Flexibility if required to work overtime as required.
Assist Operations department as needed.
Any other assigned tasks.
Other assigned maintenance tasks/duties.
Perform skilled repair and maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand and power tools, hydraulic presses and shears, welding equipment, and electronic diagnostic.
Efficiently and successfully perform work assignments based on work assigned by the planner and lead mechanic.
Ensure work level and performance is maintained to the highest standard. These will be reviewed by the Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Manager (Work is considered: Work orders, emergency repairs, Line walks to identify required repairs, assisting production, meetings, paperwork completion, etc.).
Keep complete and accurate records on all maintenance data. Ensure all work orders, preventive maintenance, emergency calls, and parts used are logged into the maintenance planning system to ensure everything essential is captured.
Tour and network regularly with other departments. Examine objects, systems, and facilities. Analyze information to determine needed services or repairs. Share data with maintenance planning system, lead, planner, and supervisor.
Assist in the development, implementation, and/or evaluation of maintenance policies and procedures.
Inspect and monitor work in operational areas, examine tools and equipment to detect and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures, safety rules, and cleanliness.
Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.
Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to assist in repairs.
Coordinate with lead, planner, and supervisor in the correction/modification of work instructions that provide direction to the Maintenance department.
Other duties as assigned by the Planner/Lead/Supervisor/Manager.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED required; minimum of two (2) years Industrial Automation or Controls Technology with a minimum of 5 years’ experience; requires ability to work in a team environment, which includes being self-motivated, accepting responsibilities, completing assigned action items, and participating in a proactive manner in all team events. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Professionalism and respect are mandatory in all settings. One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The position requires knowledge of the following:
CMMS and/or other Maintenance planning software; Blueprint/Schematic Reading.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Knowledge of CIP/SIP (clean in progress) procedures.
Knowledge of safety programs and procedures.
Available and willing to be contacted by phone in the event of an emergency and be able to work both fixed and flexible schedules including weekends, late shifts, and overtime.
