Maintenance Controls Specialist

Short Intro and About the Job

POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for executing maintenance activities supporting the Bridgeton operation. Lead the maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure high efficiency and minimize downtime, with emphasis on process control systems, pneumatic, and electronic instrumentation. Collaborate with maintenance planners, leads, and operations personnel to perform work safely and in compliance with regulations. Proactively identify, notify, and resolve issues. Continuous skill development and training are essential. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, cooperative, reliable, respectful, and passionate about their work, with a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

The following essential functions are representative but not exhaustive. The employee may be required to perform other tasks as directed by supervisors. Job duties may evolve as necessary.

  • Calibrate new and existing instruments, including control valves and controllers.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot control loops and systems.
  • Replace, repair, and recalibrate defective components, including wiring and tubing.
  • Participate in formal training programs.
  • Use and maintain tools and test equipment properly.
  • Maintain maintenance and calibration logs.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Work flexible schedules, including weekends and Overtime.
  • Analyze data and perform visual inspections.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist operations as needed and perform other assigned maintenance tasks.
  • Perform skilled repairs using various tools and equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of work quality and safety.
  • Keep detailed maintenance records and logs.
  • Collaborate with other departments and share information.
  • Inspect and monitor work areas, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Requisition parts and materials.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
  • Coordinate with team members to modify work instructions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
About You

Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED required; minimum of 2 years in Industrial Automation or Controls Technology, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Ability to work in a team, be self-motivated, and communicate effectively. Knowledge of CMMS, schematics, and safety programs is required. Willingness to be on call and work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime.
