Position Duties
  • Perform general maintenance repairs to maintain the building and grounds of the Public Safety Education and Training Center, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  • Supervise maintenance staff, including training, work assignments, and review of tasks.
  • Complete daily work orders for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Adjust, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and electronic building controls, troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Provide janitorial services, including cleaning, disinfecting, trash removal, and supply restocking.
  • Conduct routine deep cleaning, seasonal outdoor maintenance such as grass cutting, snow removal, and plant trimming.
  • Operate state vehicles and equipment for outdoor maintenance.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, remove ice and snow, and ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Operate manual and powered tools and equipment, maintain safe work areas.
  • Assist in project planning for construction and renovation projects.
  • Respond to emergencies and fulfill on-call duties.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency; five years of building maintenance experience including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of supervisory experience managing maintenance staff.
  • One year of experience performing maintenance in a state or public facility.
Selection Process

Applicants must provide detailed information demonstrating they meet the qualifications. Successful candidates will be ranked as Best Qualified, Better Qualified, or Qualified, and placed on the eligible list for at least one year. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies.
