The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates for key roles. Position Details:

  • Grade: 13
  • Location: Carroll County, 6852 4th Street, Sykesville, MD 21784

Position Duties:

  • Perform general maintenance repairs including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and construction.
  • Supervise maintenance staff, including training, work assignment, and review.
  • Complete work orders for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Adjust and repair HVAC and building automation systems, troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Provide janitorial services, including cleaning, disinfecting, trash removal, and restocking supplies.
  • Conduct deep cleaning, seasonal outdoor maintenance, operate vehicles and machinery, and maintain outdoor areas.
  • Operate manual, electric, and gas tools and equipment safely.
  • Assist in project planning for construction and renovation projects.
  • Respond to emergencies and fulfill on-call duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Five years of building maintenance experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years supervisory experience.
  • One year of general maintenance experience in a state or public facility.
