Job description
The role also offers a technical framework allowance and disruption allowance, which you can apply for once training is complete and you meet the technical qualifying criteria. By your second year as a fully trained property specialist, you could earn £53,524, excluding overtime or on-call payments.
Flexible working: This role is primarily office-based due to the nature of the work. Once qualified, some flexibility or compressed hours may be considered depending on training and business needs.

The Role
As a Maintenance Carpenter, your responsibilities include maintenance, repair, and construction in secure facilities, including infrastructure hardening and creating bespoke spaces. You will produce technical drawings, select materials, and perform tasks to high standards while following strict security protocols.
An exciting aspect is occasional deployment within the UK for intelligence operations, using your trade skills to support national security.
This role is mostly Monday to Friday, often with early starts, and may require working evenings, away from home, or overseas. Overtime and on-call payments are available for additional hours.
About You
You should have a City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent in Carpentry and Joinery, and be comfortable with hand and power tools. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, proactive approach, problem-solving skills, and good communication are essential. A full UK driving license and physical fitness are required, along with basic IT and report writing skills.
