Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities:
  • The Environmental Services Associate-Maintenance assists in general operational maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the Community’s physical plant.
  • Communicates and helps coordinate necessary tasks for repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment systems.
  • Performs general maintenance work (light, electrical, painting, carpentry, etc.).
  • Demonstrates excellent mechanical skills.
  • Understands HVAC and may operate and maintain related equipment.
  • Replenishes and maintains supply levels in work areas.
  • Ensures tools, work areas, and equipment are clean, in proper working order, and properly stored.
  • Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for residents by proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Reports hazardous conditions and maintains equipment regularly.
  • Replaces light bulbs, exit lights, room call lights, etc., as needed.
  • Conducts daily inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Follows safety practices (OSHA) and maintains safety logs.
  • Maintains the appearance of the building, assists with events, and arranges furniture.
  • Establishes and manages preventative maintenance schedules and logs.
  • Participates in in-service training and maintains confidentiality of resident information.
  • Submits invoices and reports weekly to the Environmental Services Director.
  • Maintains a clean laundry room and stores chemicals safely.
  • Ensures safety rules are followed and reports injuries promptly.
  • Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and housekeeping policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Understanding of biohazardous waste handling.
  • Sound judgment and ability to report issues appropriately.
  • Valid Driver’s License, preferably with a Commercial endorsement.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills for one-on-one and group settings.
  • Physical ability to bend, reach, push, pull, lift up to 60 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
