Responsibilities:
- The Environmental Services Associate-Maintenance assists in general operational maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the Community’s physical plant.
- Communicates and helps coordinate necessary tasks for repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment systems.
- Performs general maintenance work (light, electrical, painting, carpentry, etc.).
- Demonstrates excellent mechanical skills.
- Understands HVAC and may operate and maintain related equipment.
- Replenishes and maintains supply levels in work areas.
- Ensures tools, work areas, and equipment are clean, in proper working order, and properly stored.
- Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for residents by proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Reports hazardous conditions and maintains equipment regularly.
- Replaces light bulbs, exit lights, room call lights, etc., as needed.
- Conducts daily inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Follows safety practices (OSHA) and maintains safety logs.
- Maintains the appearance of the building, assists with events, and arranges furniture.
- Establishes and manages preventative maintenance schedules and logs.
- Participates in in-service training and maintains confidentiality of resident information.
- Submits invoices and reports weekly to the Environmental Services Director.
- Maintains a clean laundry room and stores chemicals safely.
- Ensures safety rules are followed and reports injuries promptly.
- Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Knowledge of maintenance and housekeeping policies, laws, and regulations.
- Understanding of biohazardous waste handling.
- Sound judgment and ability to report issues appropriately.
- Valid Driver’s License, preferably with a Commercial endorsement.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
- Basic computer skills.
- Effective communication skills for one-on-one and group settings.
- Physical ability to bend, reach, push, pull, lift up to 60 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
