Job summary

GreenWood is seeking a Maintenance Associate to perform preventive and routine maintenance on production equipment and facility assets at our North Charleston plant. The role combines independent work with collaboration to maximize equipment efficiency and uphold safety standards.

Key duties include predictive maintenance, CMMS data entry, and routine inspections; forklift operation; and basic repair tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to utilize CMMS for tracking work activities.
• Ability to assist in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
• Must have good mathematical skills.
• Experience demonstrating a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and other proactive maintenance work scopes for production (CNC equipment) and facility assets.
• Conduct predictive maintenance inspections using technologies such as vibration, ultrasonic, oil analysis and thermography.
• Complete surveillance routes, filter changes, lubrication and preventive maintenance tasks on plant equipment and machinery.
• Support work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments on all production and facilities equipment.
• Develop, prepare, and present recommendations and reports as requested.
• Maintain clean machines, coolant lines, and sumps; ensure organized work areas.
• Operate forklift and scissor lift and perform daily inspections.
• Operate other machines such as balers to bundle materials.
• Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Adhere to safety procedures to foster a safety‑first culture; this is a safety‑sensitive position.

Job Description

The Maintenance Associate works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. They will assist in all areas of production and facilities equipment and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

Position Responsibilities - Essential

• Perform preventive, predictive and other proactive maintenance work scopes for production (CNC equipment) and facility assets
• Conduct predictive maintenance inspections using predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, ultrasonic, oil analysis and thermography
• Complete surveillance routes, filter changes, lubrication and preventive maintenance tasks on plant equipment and machinery such as mills, lathes, grinders, conveyors, coolant systems, dust collectors and pumps
• Support the performance of work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments on all production and facilities equipment
• Develop, prepare, and present recommendations and reports as requested
• Maintain clean machines, coolant lines, and sumps
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and securely store equipment and supplies while ensuring housekeeping duties are completed as required
• Operate forklift and scissor lift and perform daily forklift inspections per required criteria
• Operate other machines such as balers, that compress materials into easy-to-transport bundles
• Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs
• Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
• Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position

Essential Skills and Experience

Beneficial Skills and Experience

• Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate
• Proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts
