Job summary

Responsibilities

• Operation and maintenance of boilers, heating systems and air conditioning systems.
• Plumbing, electrical, and carpenter work or general repair; replacement of fixtures and other tasks as needed.
• Light construction, remodeling and repairs to building damage.
• Regular preventive maintenance (heat pumps, air handling units, HVAC, pumps, chillers, water softeners and other devices).
• Accurate record keeping of maintenance.
• Yearly winterization of outside facilities.
• Analyze cost of materials and services for financial integrity.
• Snow removal from sidewalks, parking lots and loading dock areas during school days.
• Must be available for emergency call 24 hrs a day.
• Know MSDS requirements and proper chemical storage.
• Maintain key and fob inventory.
• Knowledge of setting door schedules, timers and manual override options.
• Perform light custodial tasks and support during high-need situations.
• Manage relationship with third-party cleaning services.
• Support Catholic education philosophy and community unity.
• Ensure compliance with school system and Archdiocese rules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages the relationship with third party cleaning services
• Support and promote the philosophy of Catholic education and contribute to building a spirit of unity within the school and the Cedar Valley Catholic School Community.
• Compile with rules and objectives of the school system and the Archdiocese of Dubuque.

These duties are not all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists.
