Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Maintenance Associate to keep the store clean, safe, and well-organized. You will perform routine cleaning, basic repairs, and upkeep of the store and surrounding areas using a floor scrubber and standard tools.

You will support store operations, unload trucks, stock and zone merchandise, and provide friendly service to customers and associates while upholding Rural King’s values and standards of cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
• Ability to navigate and access all areas of the store and related facilities.
• Ability to perform cleaning, maintenance, and physical store-support tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and associates.
• Close vision required for computer-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the store interior and surrounding areas, including floors, restrooms, fixtures, displays, parking lots, and exterior areas; operate a floor scrubber; empty trash; restock supplies.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs, such as bulb changes, minor plumbing, and fixture repair.
• Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance needs, and malfunctioning equipment.
• Assist with unloading trucks, stocking, zoning, and other store activities as needed.
• Provide friendly and professional support to customers and associates.
• Participate in cross-training and required learning opportunities.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Cleaning & Maintenance

• Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the store and surrounding areas by cleaning floors, restrooms, breakrooms, fixtures, displays, parking lots, and exterior areas; operating a floor scrubber; emptying trash; and restocking supplies.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs, including changing light bulbs, addressing minor plumbing issues, and repairing damaged fixtures.
• Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance needs, and malfunctioning equipment.

Store Support

• Assist with unloading trucks, stocking, zoning, and other store activities as needed.
• Provide friendly and professional support to customers and associates.
• Participate in cross-training and required learning opportunities.
