Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the facility is well-maintained, safe, and clean. The role includes performing routine repairs, general upkeep, and maintaining the cleanliness of the building and grounds.

Responsibilities and Duties
Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in and around the facility, including classrooms, bathrooms, offices, and common areas. Tasks include mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning restrooms, and maintaining overall cleanliness.
  • Monitor and clean up any debris outside the facility and playground as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of all maintenance supplies and submit supply orders in a timely manner.
  • Receive and store deliveries of supplies.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting.
  • Assess and report any facility needs to supervisor.
  • Ensure safety and security of the facility, maintaining clear fire exits, emergency and exit sign lighting and reporting maintenance issues or safety concerns.
  • Remove all garbage from the facility daily or more often as needed, placing it in the dumpster.
  • Work cooperatively with staff, supervisors, and operations management to complete additional assigned tasks related to performance standards and licensing.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Satisfactory completion of mandatory trainings.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in janitorial work.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to solve problems and adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
  • Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and work well with others.

  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and procedures.
