Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in Bethesda is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform daily repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and well-functioning community for residents and staff. The role includes handling work orders, basic repairs, painting, HVAC support, and routine safety checks.

The position involves assisting with make-ready suites, maintaining tools and inventory, and following OSHA and infection-control standards while supporting emergency drills and community

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders
• Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances, fixtures)
• Assist with painting and refurbishing projects
• Support HVAC, water, and mechanical system maintenance
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks
• Maintain tools, equipment, and repair inventory
• Support carpet and floor care as needed
• Assist with suite make-ready preparation
• Follow OSHA, fire safety, and infection control standards
• Participate in emergency preparedness and fire drills
• Drive community vehicle as assigned
