Job Description Summary

The Maintenance Assistant provides support and is accountable for delivering on our commitments to our residents. This includes quality move-ins, residential satisfaction, expedited service, and personal attention to the resident. The Maintenance Assistant responds to our resident's service needs and is instrumental in helping Cushman and Wakefield deliver superior customer service to our residents.

Essential Job Duties
  1. Prepares Market Ready apartments, which may include painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, housekeeping duties, and other necessary tasks to ensure a quality move-in experience.
  2. Responds to resident requests promptly and professionally.
  3. Possesses knowledge of maintenance functions such as plumbing, HVAC, basic electric, carpentry, painting, and snow removal (if applicable).
  4. Maintains grounds, pools/hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to keep them clean, operational, and safe.
  5. Reports maintenance concerns on vacant units, models, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  6. Performs scheduled maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  7. Knowledgeable of fair housing laws at the state, local, and federal levels.
  8. Attends and participates in required training programs.
  9. Performs assigned duties promptly and efficiently.
  10. Delivers excellent customer service and maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.
  11. Dresses according to Cushman and Wakefield standards.
  12. Maintains and safeguards all company tools and equipment.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Competencies
  • Ability to read policy manuals, safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Uses common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Problem-solving skills involving routine variables.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; related experience preferred. EPA 608 Type II, CPO, or local certification required.

Work Environment

Operates in a professional office and outdoor environment, requiring travel between properties in varying weather conditions.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, ascend/descend stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions is required.
