Job summary

Core Healthcare is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Assistant for a rural nursing facility. The role focuses on routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance of equipment and property, inside and out, with strong safety compliance and clear English communication.

Responsibilities include repairs, painting, general carpentry and electrical work, and operation of common tools. Weekend availability and patient-respecting discretion are essential for this position in our community-oriented

Qualifications

  • Requires ability to perform routine, preventative and corrective maintenance in a healthcare facility.
  • Demonstrates strong safety and regulatory awareness in Life Safety considerations.
  • Good written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out work assignments as directed by supervisor.
  • Complete painting projects including surface prep, trim work, and cleanup.
  • Perform routine plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repair work.
  • Safely operate lawn, hand, and power tools (snow blowers, drills, saws, planers, sewer snakes).
  • Replace burned out bulbs and ballasts regularly.
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedule and routine servicing.
  • Monitor and report hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  • Conduct daily facility tours to check maintenance request books and perform needed repairs.
  • Work independently on long-term projects.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and respect resident rights during maintenance tasks.
  • Be available for weekend work as required.
  • Adopt safe working habits.

Experienced Maintenance Assistant Needed for Rural Nursing Facility
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Position requires demonstrated knowledge and skills in completing routine, preventative and corrective maintenance of the facility equipment and property inside and out in accordance State and Federal regulatory standards - maintaining the grounds in a first class condition; safely and properly maintaining facility and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures of the facility; demonstrate effective verbal and written communication in English; be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, push, sweep, lift, and stretch for extended periods; be able to frequently move heavy furniture, boxes and equipment; lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Previous work experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of Life Safety State and Federal Regulations preferred.

Certificate/Licenses

HVAC and/or Electrical certification preferred. Valid Pennsylvania drivers' license with clean driving history.

Job Description

  9. Conduct daily tour of facility to check maintenance request books on each nurses' station and in kitchen, and perform needed repairs.
  10. Ability to work independently on long-term projects.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of resident records and respect resident rights when performing maintenance work.
  12. Be available for work as requested on weekends.
  13. Practices safe working habits.
