Job summary

Excel Care at Wilmington is seeking a reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the daily operations of our skilled nursing facility. This role helps keep residents, staff, and visitors comfortable and safe by maintaining clean and functional spaces.

Responsibilities include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, completing repairs, responding to work orders, and assisting with room setups. Flexible weekend/on-call availability is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintenance/skilled trade experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building systems and tools
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work
• Detail‑oriented with strong safety awareness
• Reliable team player with good communication skills
• Flexible availability (weekends/on‑call as needed)
• Healthcare or long‑term care experience a plus
