Job summary

Excel Care at Lewes is seeking a reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the daily operations of our skilled nursing facility in Lewes, DE. You will perform general maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry, respond to work orders, keep common areas and resident rooms safe and clean, and assist with room setups and seasonal tasks.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Maintenance or skilled trade experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building systems and tools.
• Detail-oriented with strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
• Complete repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems
• Respond to work orders and maintenance requests from staff
• Help maintain clean and safe common areas, resident rooms, and outdoor spaces
• Support seasonal tasks like snow removal and landscaping
• Monitor supplies and tools, and report any hazards or needed repairs
• Help with room setups, furniture moves, and facility inspections
• Always follow safety and infection control protocols

Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities:
