Job summary

NY Skilled Nursing Care Center, a Skilled Nursing Facility in Orange County, NY, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant. You will help ensure resident and staff safety by repairing buildings and furnishings and maintaining grounds, including lawn care and snow/ice removal.

Duties include developing preventive maintenance procedures, managing heating and plumbing systems, planning repairs, and performing general maintenance tasks such as painting and carpentry.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age requirement.
• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related work experience.
• Basic knowledge of tools and their use.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and painting skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Plan and schedule repairs.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including, painting, and carpentry.
• Clean and assist with upkeep of facility.
• Upkeep of grounds, including lawn care and snow ice removal.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend and crawl into awkward spaces.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
