Job summary

Kotarides Property Management is seeking a motivated Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep of our apartment community in Suffolk, Virginia. The role involves assisting in unit turnovers and a range of minor maintenance tasks to preserve curb appeal and safety.

You will work under the Property Manager, perform interior and exterior painting as needed, and help with make-ready duties while ensuring residents and property are cared for with a courteous, professional approach.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in apartment or similar maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the property and remove litter and debris.
• Ensure timely turnover of vacant units under the Property Manager's direction.
• Perform interior and exterior painting duties when requested.
• Assist with make-ready duties and complete unit work orders.
• Distribute notices to residents.
• Be available to report to work during inclement weather and emergencies.
• Monitor property conditions and fix unsafe issues promptly.

Maintenance Assistant

The Maintenance Assistant position involves the upkeep of the apartment community in order to enhance and maintain its curb appeal and assist the rest of the maintenance staff. This includes assisting in unit turnovers and minor maintenance tasks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the property by physically walking the property on a frequent basis and remove litter, debris, etc. from the grounds.
• Ensures timely turnover of vacant units under direction of the Property Manager.
• Performs interior and exterior painting duties when requested.
• Assist with make ready duties and completes unit work orders when requested.
• Distributes notices to residents.
• Be available to report to work during any inclement weather event for property clean up and emergencies.
• Must be aware of the condition of physical property throughout the community and immediately correct unsafe conditions (i.e. burned out exterior lights, open holes, broken gates, etc.).
• Maintains a courteous and professional relationship with the residents.

Qualifications

Pay
