Job summary

Goldwater-Care-Pontiac seeks a Part-Time Maintenance/Transportation Assistant to support facility upkeep, grounds, and equipment safety. The role includes resident transportation to appointments and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

You will perform routine maintenance, follow schedules, and assist with transportation documentation and on-call duties on weekends. Independent work with minimal supervision is expected.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of maintenance and basic repair work.
  • Ability to safely use general hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must pass required background screening.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to safely transport residents when assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Check maintenance boards daily for needed repairs.
  • Assist with facility drills, inspections, and testing.
  • Complete required equipment and maintenance log sheets.
  • Participate in assigned training.
  • Perform routine maintenance of the grounds and parking areas.
  • Paint rooms and areas as needed.
  • Assist with moving, lifting, and transporting miscellaneous items.
  • Be available for on-call maintenance duties when the Maintenance Director is unavailable.
  • Be able to complete assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Assist with transporting residents to and from medical appointments and other approved destinations.
  • Ensure residents are transported safely and professionally while following all facility transportation procedures.
  • Complete required vehicle and transportation documentation.

Job description

Maintenance / Transportation Assistant - Part-Time

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with maintaining the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The employee will follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures, to help ensure the facility remains safe and well maintained.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are followed.

  • Check maintenance boards daily for needed repairs.

  • Assist with facility drills, inspections, and testing.

  • Complete required equipment and maintenance log sheets.

  • Participate in assigned training.

  • Perform routine maintenance of the grounds and parking areas.

Schedule:
  • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Every other weekend: On-call

  • This position also includes part-time resident transportation to various appointments as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to move throughout the facility and grounds during the workday.

  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to safely assist with moving equipment, supplies, and other items as needed.
