Job summary

Carlton Senior Living in Pleasant Hill, CA, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant on an on-call schedule (9AM-5PM) to respond to repairs, upkeep, and resident needs. You will assist with turnover, safety tasks, and collaborate with multiple departments to maintain a welcoming community for seniors.

Ideal candidates have basic maintenance skills, familiarity with power tools, and a background in facilities or HVAC-related work.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old per Title 22 requirements.
• At least six months of relevant education and/or hands-on experience required.
• Prior experience with power tools or industrial cleaning equipment is preferred.
• Background in facility maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, electrical, or plumbing is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Manager with repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance of the building, equipment, and grounds.
• Support apartment turnover by painting, cleaning carpets, and completing minor repairs to ensure units are move-in ready.
• Respond to maintenance requests and resident concerns promptly, professionally, and with a focus on satisfaction and safety.
• Perform routine tasks including trash management, safety checks, common area cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments for event setups, move-ins/outs, and marketing needs while upholding community standards.
• Support safety protocols, emergency plans, and elopement prevention practices.
• Foster a warm, collaborative atmosphere with residents, families, and team members.
