Job summary

Deer Meadows Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in building and preventive maintenance, along with skills in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Flexibility in working hours and knowledge of relevant regulations will be highly valued.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in building and preventive maintenance required
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Knowledge of SNF regulations and disaster preparedness preferred

• Perform repairs on various equipment in the facility
• Assist Maintenance Director with adherence to regulations
• Operate common hand tools
• Work in a Skilled Nursing / Long Term Care environment

Requirements include :

• 2 years experience in building and preventive maintenance required
• Mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing system experience ( A plus)
• Plumbing work - works with a variety of plumbing, replaces valves, pipes, etc.
• Does basic repair and maintenance on items such as beds, lifts, stands, wheelchairs, etc.
• Performs basic carpentry, painting, drywall and finish work
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• A dependable, kind and energetic demeanor
• SNF regulations and disaster preparedness knowledge preferred
• Self-motivated and can function as an "in charge" person when necessary
