We are hiring for:

Maintenance Assistant

Type: Regular

Manages tools, equipment, and bench stock. Conducts periodic maintenance inspections, ensures basic safety standards are addressed, and can identify potential hazards. Provides 24-hour emergency maintenance and reports all emergencies. Implements protocol and procedures to ensure safety measures are accomplished.

Education, Licensure, and Experience: HS diploma or G.E.D. and four years of experience in general maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinates work orders with Home Managers and staff to minimize interference with activities.
  2. Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, walls, framework, and trim.
  3. Paints interior and exterior walls and trim; installs glass, window shades, blinds, curtain rods, ceiling fans, lights, and door locks.
  4. Replaces damaged ceiling tiles, floor tiles, and wall coverings.
  5. Ensures compliance with building codes.
  6. Plans for reconstruction, capital improvements, or new installations with management.
  7. Seeks bids for construction/renovation projects.
  8. Suggests cost-saving equipment replacements.
  9. Estimates costs of parts and supplies for scheduled maintenance.
  10. Reviews manuals and maintenance records to determine preventive maintenance frequency.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED plus 1-3 years related experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurance; maintains proficiency in required training and certifications.
