Job summary

Pacific Hills Post-Acute is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the Morgan Hill facility safe, clean, and well maintained. The role supports daily maintenance for patients and staff, addressing requests and coordinating with the Maintenance Director for safety drills and improvements.

The ideal candidate has prior maintenance experience in a healthcare setting, is physically capable of performing the required tasks, and maintains a calm, professional demeanor while delivering reliable

Qualifications

• Experience in nursing home or hospital maintenance or construction preferred.
• Must meet physical requirements (standing, lifting, bending, reach, etc.).
• Ability to identify repairs and take initiative to fix them.
• Basic reporting and organizational skills.
• Remain calm and professional in work situations.
• Willingness to serve others and learn new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage routine maintenance for the facility and residents.
• Repair appliances, fixtures, doors, beds; respond to requests via maintenance logs.
• Assist with move in/outs and room preparation for patients.
• Ensure repair/response time under 24 hours for daily requests.
• Maintain appearance and safety of the facility; address both internal and external issues.
• Patch, paint, repair, and carpet/floor care as needed.
• Tend lawns and shrubs, keeping them weeded and trimmed.
• Support fire and life safety training and drills with leadership.
• Communicate kindly with residents, families, staff, vendors and public.
• Lead by example, complying with OSHA safety regulations.

Position Summary:

Assists the Maintenance Department to ensure the facility is safe, attractive and well maintained

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in nursing home or hospital maintenance or construction preferred
• Meets the physical requirements of the position (standing on ladders, working on light, bathroom and other fixtures and appliances, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, etc. throughout the workday)
• Ability to recognize things in need of repair – and desire to fix them!
• Basic reporting and organizational skills
• Remains calm and professional in all work-related situations
• Willingness to serve others and learn

Responsibilities:

• Manages the routine maintenance needs of the facility and its patients/residents
• Repairs appliances, light fixtures, doors, beds, etc. responding to patient and staff requests using maintenance reports and log system
• Assists with move in/outs – preparing rooms for patient/resident use
• Ensure less than 24-hour repair/response time for all daily maintenance requests
• Cares about the appearance and safety or the facility – repairs both external and internal issues to ensure a clean, neat, safe experience for everyone
• Patches, paints and repairs are a major part of the position as well as carpet/floor care
• Tends to lawns, shrubs, etc. ensuring they are weeded and trimmed
• Assists the Maintenance Director or Administrator with fire and life safety training/drills
• Communicates kindly with residents, families, staff, vendors and general public
• Leads by example complying with all OSHA safety regulations=
