Position: Maintenance Assistant

The right candidate will ensure that the facilities’ equipment and utilities are maintained in good working order and that the facility grounds are properly maintained.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Follow maintenance schedules as outlined for the respective shift or area.
2. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in setting maintenance standards.
3. Help develop procedures for performing daily maintenance tasks.
4. Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when working in living and recreational areas.
5. Complete administrative tasks such as forms and reports, and submit them to the Maintenance Supervisor.
6. Report accidents and incidents to the Maintenance Supervisor during the shift they occur.
7. Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and team members to ensure tasks and projects are completed on time.
8. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for staff and residents.
9. Assist in training and supervising new maintenance staff as needed.
10. Maintain open and effective communication with staff and management to address maintenance concerns promptly.
11. Support community cleanliness and appearance through regular inspections and maintenance of common areas and living spaces.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements:

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in maintenance tasks.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing for long periods, and operating maintenance equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• A caring, team-oriented attitude with a customer service focus.
• Knowledge of healthcare maintenance standards, regulations, and procedures.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with maintenance management systems is a plus.
