Job summary

Diversicare is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to support post-acute care facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety tests across building systems to ensure a safe, clean environment for residents and staff.

Ideal candidates bring HVAC repair experience, basic electrical/plumbing skills, and a positive attitude toward the elderly; HS diploma or GED required. Opportunity to develop in a supportive team focused on compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • HVAC repair experience is required.
  • Basic electrical and plumbing repair knowledge is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of water heaters, generators, commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and blueprint interpretation.
  • High School or GED; ability to read, write and follow directions.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Positive attitude toward the elderly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and maintain maintenance records as directed.
  • Carry out building and equipment repairs per work orders.
  • Test fire safety equipment under guidance of the Regional Maintenance Director.
  • Inspect building systems and log findings.
  • Coordinate maintenance services with department managers to ensure uninterrupted performance.
  • Do basic carpentry, drywall, flooring and painting as needed.
  • Keep building in good repair and compliant with laws.
  • Follow safety rules and company policies; document repairs and purchases.
  • May drive company or personal vehicle for business.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and treat residents with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities
  • Performs preventative maintenance and maintains maintenance records as instructed.
  • Perform building and equipment repairs, as per work order requests.
  • Performs fire safety equipment tests under the guidance of the Regional Maintenance Director.
  • Inspects building systems as scheduled and log findings.
  • Coordinate maintenance services with department managers to ensure building and equipment performance without interruption.
  • Performs basic carpentry, drywall, flooring and painting as required to maintain favorable building appearance.
  • Maintains the building in good repair and in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Follows established safety rules and Policies & Procedures of building.
  • Order equipment and supplies as necessary; and maintain proper records of repairs and purchases.
  • May be required to drive for company business with either company vehicle personal vehicle
  • Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect
Qualifications
  • Must have demonstrated HVAC repair experience.
  • Intermediate skillset in electric and plumbing repair highly desired.
  • Knowledge of water heaters, generators commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration would be a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and blueprint interpretation.
  • Completion of High School/GED education or otherwise show ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
  • Basic computerliteracy
  • Positive attitude toward the elderly
